How Long Will Your Divorce Take?
The answer depends on a number of factors, but no matter what your circumstances are, there will be at least a four-month mandatory waiting period after divorce papers are served. From that point it usually takes a number of months to get into court for a final hearing. A divorce resolved through voluntary settlement can take as little as six months while a contested divorce can take multiple years in extreme cases.
